Indian Cinema Record

Emphatically, the Indian Cinema industry has created history of sorts in 2003 by producing 2,054 cinemas (877 feature films and 1,177 short films), against the US produced only 473 cinemas, and this phenomenon has astonished world cinema community.

And, of course, there is a wide gamut of cinemas - distinctly categorized into commercial, art, melodrama, sentiment and emotional films occupying a large chunk of present day productions, while the older ones based on social (contemporary), mythological, fantasy, folk stories etc., depicting social, economical, political conditions.
